More than a view
Zanzibar is sold to the world as turquoise water and white sand. But the island is so much more than a view — dawn prayers drifting over Stone Town, fishermen hauling in the morning catch, children playing in coral-stone alleys, artisans practising crafts passed down for generations.
Real Zanzibar exists to show travellers that island — and to make sure the people who make it extraordinary are seen, valued and fairly rewarded. We design every journey hand-in-hand with the guides, families and makers who share their world with you. We're not here to run a tourism factory. Every journey is built with local people, not around them. We refuse what harms the island — mass tourism, all-inclusive resorts, activities that exploit animals or disturb village life — even when it would make money. And we treat every traveller as a guest, never a number.
